A 1995 Lagavulin single malt from the Feis Ile 2013 edition, bottled at 51% in a 70cl bottle. Sherry influence is strong, and the distillery's smoke is described as creamy rather than harsh.
The nose combines raisins, dark honey, toffee and berry jam with oiled leather, smoked bacon and a light sea breeze. On the palate, sweet sherried fruit gives way to dense peat smoke, pipe tobacco, bonfire ash and seaweed. The finish is very long and warm, dry with peat smoke and ash, ending on bitter chocolate, strawberry jam and sea salt.
