Lagavulin – 20 Year Old - Fèis Ìle 2020 is a single malt whisky from Lagavulin (Islay). Aged 20 years, bottled at 54% ABV, 70cl. Lagavulin is said to be one of the oldest distilleries on Islay and is world-renowned for its smoky, peaty whiskies. It is situated on Islay's south coast where legal distilling started in 1816 by John Johnson. The distillery was then moved into the hands of the Mackie's who launched White Horse into export markets. White Horse Distillers became part of DCL in 1927 just shortly before the Distillery was closed in 1942 for the remainder of WWII. Later, Lagavulin 16 joined the Classic Malts portfolio in 1989 and ever since has been a great success. This 20-year-old Lagavulin was matured in a carefully selected mix of refill and PX/Oloroso seasoned casks personally selected by distillery manager Colin Gordon. It is the Fèis Ìle 2020 edition which has been expertly tuned to give its own unique and memorable performance. Bottled at the natural cask strength of 54%. This is one of just 6000 bottles released.
