This is an 8 year old Islay single malt from Lagavulin, bottled at 48% in a 75cl bottle. It was first released in 2016 to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary, Lagavulin having been founded in 1816 by John Johnston. It is matured mainly in refill American oak hogsheads and is non-chill-filtered, with natural colour.
The nose combines milk chocolate, lemon and tea-scented smoke with maritime notes. The palate is sweet, smoky and warming, with charred mint and dark chocolate, and the finish is clean, very long and smoky.
