Lagavulin 8 Year Old is a single malt from the Lagavulin distillery on the south coast of Islay. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle and was released as a special edition to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary.
The whisky spent eight years maturing in selected casks.
On the nose, smoke and iodine sit alongside dried fruit. The palate opens with strong peat and smoke, softened by a little honey and ripe fruit. The finish is long, with peat smoke, vanilla and a maritime spiciness.
