Lagavulin 8 Year Old is an Islay single malt in a 75cl bottle, carrying an eight-year age statement.
The nose combines salted popcorn, honey-roasted nuts, tarry rope and a hint of freshly chopped cedar, with a lingering touch of burnt sugar. Smoky peat arrives first on the palate, followed by coriander seed, barley sugar, cumin, smoked kipper and marzipan.
The finish brings apple crumble, toasted almond and ash, with a last kick of cooking spices.
