Lagavulin 8 Years Old is an Islay single malt released as a limited edition for the distillery's bicentenary, marking 1816 to 2016. It is bottled at 48% (96 proof) and is light gold in colour.
The nose starts soft, clean and fresh, with faint milk chocolate and lemon, then moves to fragrant, tea-scented smoke and maritime aromas. The palate is full-on and charred, with mint and dark chocolate. The finish is long and smoky, with minted smoke and chocolate tannins leaving the palate dry.
