Lagavulin Distillers Edition is an Islay single malt distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2017 at 43% abv. After its main maturation, the whisky was finished in sweet Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, which adds depth to Lagavulin's strong peat smoke.
In the tasting notes, peat smoke sits alongside raisins, dark chocolate and a hint of oak. On the palate, smoke, sweetness and spicy warmth are described as well balanced.
