This is a 28 year old Lagavulin from Diageo's Prima & Ultima range, a limited edition single malt in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in American oak hogsheads, and 1013 bottles were released worldwide.
The palate is oily and rich in texture, with a well-balanced sweetness followed by smoke and salt. A drying, spicy warmth builds as it goes. The finish is of medium length, with more scented smoke and spice.
