Lagavulin – The Distillers Edition Double Matured in Pedro Ximénez (75cl, 43%)

Lagavulin Distillers Edition is an Islay single malt that adds a sweeter side to the distillery's smoky style. It is bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. The whisky first matures in refill American and European oak casks. A second maturation follows in re-charred American oak seasoned with Pedro Ximénez, which adds richness to the smoke. Raisin sweetness set against dark peat smoke is the defining contrast, and the profile is rich and smoky, with the influence of the finishing casks sitting alongside Lagavulin's peat character.
