Laird's Straight Apple Brandy is made by Laird & Company, which has distilled in Scobeyville, New Jersey since 1780. It is 100% apple brandy with no neutral spirits, blended from selected barrels and aged at least four years in charred oak. It is bottled in bond at 100 proof, or 50% abv.
The nose is baked apple and spiced wood, with vanilla, cinnamon and a savoury depth from the oak. The palate is full and warming, with concentrated apple, baking spice and toasted oak. The finish is long, with lingering apple and spice.
It is made for apple-brandy cocktails such as the Jack Rose, and can also be sipped neat.
