Langhe Nebbiolo DOC Prinsiot - Fratelli Alessandria

A Langhe Nebbiolo DOC from Fratelli Alessandria, made from Nebbiolo grapes harvested by hand at the beginning of October in Verduno. The grapes come from the Neirane, Pisapola and Sotto Orti vineyards, between 270 and 400 metres above sea level, on calcareous, silty soils. Fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled steel tanks at 26-27 C for 7-9 days, followed by 6-8 months in French or Slavonian oak barrels of 20-40 hectolitres, two months in steel and 2-3 months in bottle. The wine aims for elegance and aromatic finesse, with a silky, balanced tannic texture. The first vintage produced was 1964.
