Laphroaig – 10 Year Old Cask Strength 2021 Batch 15 (70cl, 56.5%)

This is the 2021 Batch 15 of Laphroaig's ten-year-old cask strength whisky, an Islay single malt bottled at 56.5% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent ten years in ex-bourbon casks. The barley is dried over a peat fire, which gives the whisky its smoky character. A few drops of water bring out the peat and a taste of sea salt. The nose is sweet, with coal, cereal, oak, tobacco, leather, nutmeg and vanilla. On the palate it is sweet and spicy with smoke, toffee, salt, cinnamon and pepper. The finish is long, spicy and peaty.
