Laphroaig – 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 14 (2021) (70cl, 58.6%)

A 10 year old cask strength single malt from Laphroaig on Islay, released as Batch 14 in 2021. It is bottled at 58.6% in a 70cl bottle and has not been chill-filtered. It is described as strongly smoky, in the way of Islay whiskies, with the nearby sea shaping its character. The nose is big, smoky and peaty, with iodine, sweet butter biscuits, manuka honey, pipe tobacco, old saddle leather and a little vanilla. On the palate come peat smoke, toasted oak, buttery caramel, grilled marshmallows, a little salt, espresso beans, Belgian caramel waffles and white pepper. The finish is long, peaty and sweet.
