Laphroaig – 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 15 (70cl, 56.5%)

This is Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength, Batch 15, an Islay single malt bottled at 56.5% vol in a 70cl bottle. After ten years in cask it is filtered to remove charcoal particles, then bottled without reduction. It combines the smoky, wild character of Islay with a deep sweetness and spice. The colour is a lively amber. The nose offers sweet cereal, fresh oak and pipe tobacco, with leather, nutmeg and vanilla. On the palate it is sweet and spicy, with vanilla, toffee and sea salt, plus cinnamon and pepper. The finish is long, with lingering spice, oak tannin, iodine and sea salt.
