This is Batch 17 of Laphroaig's 10 year old cask strength single malt from Islay, bottled in November 2023 at 58.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in bourbon casks for at least ten years.
Laphroaig was established in 1815 on the south coast of Islay and still uses cold smoking and floor malting by hand. At cask strength the whisky is robust, spicy and smoky, with a little more of everything.
Nose and palate bring peat smoke, sea salt, toasted oak, vanilla, nuts, leather, tobacco and honey.
