Laphroaig Original Cask Strength Batch 013 is the 13th release of the Islay distillery's annual cask strength 10 year old. It was bottled in January 2021 at 57.9% in a 70cl bottle, without dilution, with natural colour and no chill-filtering.
The whisky is made from heavily peated malt and matured for a minimum of 10 years in ex-bourbon American oak barrels.
The nose combines peat smoke, iodine, seaweed and smoked cedar with sweet biscuits, Manuka honey, vanilla and lemon peel. On the palate come burnt oak, toffee, sea salt and sticky toffee pudding, leading to a long, warming finish.
