Laphroaig 10 Year Sherry Oak Finish is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 48% in a 750ml bottle.
After its main maturation in traditional casks, it spends a further 12 months in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The sherry adds dried fruit sweetness and a nutty depth that sit alongside the medicinal peat smoke rather than covering it.
The nose combines manuka honey and maple syrup with bacon smoke, seaweed and sea salt. The palate is toffee and maple, then roasted wood, cedar, dark chocolate, iodine and pine. The finish is long and smoky, with peat, nuts and a last touch of brine.
