Laphroaig 10 Years Old is an Islay single malt matured for ten years in ex-bourbon barrels. The distillery has made whisky on the island since 1815.
It is a heavily peated style. The nose has medicinal peat smoke, seaweed and iodine alongside vanilla, liquorice and salt, with a hint of lemon. The palate is medium to heavy in body and oily, with peat smoke, coastal brine, brown sugar and candied lemon.
The finish is long, with salt, smoke and peat followed by lemon zest and a smoky warmth.
