Laphroaig 12 Year Old Prime Malt Selection No.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt, bottled at 45.7% in a 75cl bottle as an import release.
The nose opens with smoke and dry peat, hay lofts, smouldering oak staves, herbs, pepper, parchment and wax. The palate brings coastal notes, a little mineral and dry roasted nuts, with smoke and peat building alongside salted caramel and bonfire toffee apples. The long, peaty finish gives way to rich, mouthcoating toasted fruit cake.
