Laphroaig – 14 Year Old Willem Dafoe Limited Edition (70cl, 53.7%)

This is a 14-year-old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, created in collaboration with the actor Willem Dafoe. He selected the whisky and helped design the packaging. It is bottled at 53.7% without chill-filtration, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in American oak and then finished in oloroso sherry casks. The nose is sweet and lightly floral, with sweet pea, jasmine, burnt caramel and earthy menthol, plus hints of seaweed and beach campfire smoke. The palate has muscovado sugar, salted caramel and coffee grounds, with smoke in the background. The finish is long and mouthwatering.
