This Laphroaig is a 14 year old Islay single malt chosen personally by Willem Dafoe, as part of a collaboration. It was matured on Islay for 14 years and then finished in Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose combines peat smoke, sea salt, dried fruit, oak spice and a little dark chocolate. On the palate come smoky malt, raisins, treacle, roasted nuts and rich sherry sweetness. The finish is lingering, with peat smoke, warming spice, maritime notes and dried fruit.
