This Laphroaig was distilled in 2001 and bottled by Signatory as an 18 year old, at 59.3% in a 70cl bottle, under the name The Little Big Book.
The nose is clean and complex: rubber, intense smoke and gentian root over peat that turns oily and medicinal, then gamy with smoked fish and bacon. The palate is powerful and lively, with chocolatey peat, iodine, hay, pear, vanilla, acacia honey and roasted pineapple. The finish is long, peaty and chocolatey, with citrus, dried fruits, coconut milk and ash.
