This is a Laphroaig single malt from Islay, distilled in 1980 and bottled in 2007 after 27 years in cask. It was matured in an Oloroso sherry cask and bottled at 57.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle, from a batch of 972 bottles.
The nose has ripe orchard apples, dried apricots and dark cherries with cinnamon and thyme, over oak from the sherry cask. Dried figs, dark chocolate, leather and roasted nuts mark the palate, which has a full-bodied texture, and the finish is long, with smoky peat and sweet spice.
