This is a 25 year old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, distilled in October 1997 and bottled in October 2022 at 54.4% ABV. It comes from a single refill hogshead and was filled into 139 bottles, as part of the Old & Rare range.
The nose offers lemon meringue pie, vanilla ice cream and gentle Islay peat. The palate is soft and creamy, with citrus notes and then incense and sandalwood. The finish is long and complex, with soft smoke woven through fruity notes.
