This 2023 release of Laphroaig 25 Year Old Cask Strength is an Islay single malt that began its maturation in 1998. It spent a quarter of a century in ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 47.3%, non-chill filtered.
The barley is Laphroaig's own floor-malted barley.
In its early years the whisky showed red berries and vanilla sweetness; with age the fruit has come forward alongside the constant smoke. Expect wave after wave of tropical flavour, a long smoky finish and the familiar Laphroaig aftertaste.
