Laphroaig 25 Year is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 45.1% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Laphroaig has made whisky on the south coast of the island since 1815.
Spirit from second-fill European oak Oloroso sherry casks is married with spirit from ex-bourbon barrels. Twenty-five years in oak has tempered the distillery's peat smoke.
The nose is restrained peat smoke with vanilla, wood spice, dried fruit and a little sherry nuttiness. On the palate, peat is softened by sherry sweetness and creamy oak, with spicy apple, black pepper, iodine and a maritime tang. The finish is very long and warming, with peat smoke, brine and sweet spice.
