Laphroaig – 28 Year Old Limited Edition (75cl)

A limited edition 28 year old single malt from Laphroaig on Islay, in a 750ml bottle and presented in a wooden case. It was matured first in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in Oloroso sherry butts. The long maturation sits alongside the distillery's peat smoke and medicinal character, with sweetness, dried fruit and polished oak. It is bottled at natural cask strength and is not chill filtered. On the nose there is coastal peat smoke, iodine, dried figs, dark chocolate and old oak. The palate brings smoked honey, leather, sherry-soaked raisins, toasted nuts and gentle spice, and the finish is long, with lingering smoke, dried fruit and warming oak.
