This is the 2024 release of Laphroaig's 30 year old, an Islay single malt matured for three decades in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. It is bottled at 45.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering, and has a saffron colour.
On the nose there are orange, lemon, heather honey, caramel, creamy toffee and a little pepper. The palate is full-bodied and peaty-sweet, with sweet pastry, fresh thyme, earthy notes, peat smoke and white pepper. The finish is long and slightly dry, with a hint of salt and bonfire smoke.
