A 30 year old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first release in the distillery's new annual batch series, issued in 2024.
The whisky matured in American oak casks and in European ex-sherry hogsheads and butts. Those long years in wood have given it marked complexity, and the familiar Islay peat smoke remains, balanced against the influence of the casks.
Peat smoke, citrus, bergamot and white pepper run through the nose and palate.
