This is a 30 year old Laphroaig from Islay, the first release in The Ian Hunter Story series. It was bottled in honour of Ian Hunter, who managed the distillery from 1908 to 1944, and it comes presented in a book.
The whisky matured for its whole life in first-fill American white oak bourbon barrels. The release celebrates the people who shaped Laphroaig, and Hunter is remembered as a strong and divisive character who did much to build the distillery's name.
