Laphroaig 30 Year Old is the second release in The Ian Hunter Story, a series that honours the legacy Ian Hunter built at the distillery more than 100 years ago. The whisky matured for 30 years in ex-Oloroso sherry casks made from Spanish oak, and it is non-chill-filtered.
Sweet sherry notes sit alongside Laphroaig's characteristic peat smoke. The bottle comes in a book that documents part of Ian Hunter's story, and a new chapter is planned for each year of the series.
