Laphroaig – 32 Year Old (46.6%)

Laphroaig 32 Year Old is an Islay single malt released for the distillery's 200th anniversary in 2015, in an edition of 5,880 bottles. It was bottled at cask strength, 46.6% ABV. It spent its long maturation in former Oloroso sherry casks, which give it a mahogany colour and a sherry note while the character of the distillery stays intact. The distillery's manager, John Campbell, called it a special and intense experience. The nose offers fine smoke with oak and orange. The palate is creamy and sweet with smoke, moving into spice and a slight bitterness. The finish is long and sweet.
