This is a 33 year old Islay single malt Scotch whisky from Laphroaig, bottled at 43.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first volume of the limited-edition Strong Characters series, which honours the people who shaped the distillery.
Volume 1 tells the story of Donald Johnston, who co-founded Laphroaig in 1815. The label is illustrated by Bill Bragg. The whisky was matured in hogsheads of two kinds: American oak that previously held bourbon, and European oak seasoned with sherry.
