This is a 33 year old Laphroaig single malt from Islay, distilled in 1987 and bottled in 2021 at 48.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It pays tribute to Ian Hunter's role in safeguarding the Kilbride Stream and is the third chapter in the distillery's The Ian Hunter Story series. It comes in a book-shaped case, and 4,800 bottles were released. The nose is coastal, with brine, iodine, fennel and dried kelp, alongside green apple, lemon zest, kiwi, mirin and honey. The palate is silky and sweet, with pineapple, coconut and mandarin, then seaweed, toasted nuts, peat, tobacco leaf and charcoal. The finish is medium, with antiseptic notes, incense and grapefruit pith.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
