This 34-year-old Laphroaig is Book Five, Enduring Spirit, the fifth and final release in the Ian Hunter series. The series pays tribute to Ian Hunter, the last member of the Johnston family to own and run the Islay distillery.
The single malt was double matured in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak barrels and Pedro Ximénez European oak hogsheads. It is bottled at 45.5% ABV without chill filtration.
Its flavour combines classic Laphroaig peat with fruity blueberry and sweet, rich butterscotch.
