Laphroaig 36 Year Old is part of The Archive Collection, an Islay single malt from a distillery founded in 1815. The whisky was laid down in 1985 and matured in ex-bourbon barrels.
The nose shows antique oak, honeyed smoke and sea spray, with candied citrus, vanilla pod and polished leather. The palate brings peat embers, dried mango, heather and salted caramel, with hints of iodine. The finish is long and mellow, with sweet smoke and aged oak warmth.
