Laphroaig Cairdeas 2008 is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky released for the 2008 Islay Whisky Festival. Bottled that year at 55% ABV, the release comprised 3,600 bottles and combined maturation in quarter casks and sherry butts.
Apple, peach, lemon and melon meet clove, charred oak, medicinal smoke and sea salt on the nose. The creamy palate brings citrus, caramel, cinnamon, almond, smoky vanilla and iodine. Dried apricot and spicy oak follow on a medium-long finish, with lingering smoke and dry spice.
