Laphroaig Cairdeas 200th Anniversary Edition marks two centuries of Laphroaig, from 1815 to 2015. It is a single malt Scotch bottled at 51.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines clean peat smoke with fruity sweetness, charcoal smoke, vanilla, soft caramel, sea air, grilled lemon and grapefruit, with iodine notes that are softer than in the standard 10 year old.
The palate is oily and full-bodied, with medicinal peat, bonfire smoke, milk chocolate, toasted vanilla, malt, apple, clementine, liquorice and fennel or mint. The finish is very long, dry and smoky, with salted caramel, clove, nutmeg and lemon zest.
