Laphroaig Cairdeas 2014 is a single malt Scotch that was matured twice: first in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then for one year in Amontillado hogsheads.
The nose opens with dusty, gentle cinnamon and lemon zest, then moves to earthy figs and dates, followed by creamy brazil nuts. Carbolic soap comes through next, and the nose closes on a lingering note of salted liquorice.
