Laphroaig – Cairdeas 2015 200th Anniversary (70cl, 51.5%)

This is the 2015 Cairdeas from Laphroaig, released at Fèis Ìle to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary. Cairdeas is the Gaelic word for friendship, and each year the Distillery Manager makes a limited edition for the Friends of Laphroaig. This year it was John Campbell. It is bottled at 51.5% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was made from 100% floor malted barley from the distillery's own malting floor, run through the two smaller and older stills. It is reportedly matured for about 11 to 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, and reflects John Campbell's view of how Laphroaig was originally made.
