This is the 2024 Cairdeas release from Laphroaig, a limited edition 10 year old Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle. It is bottled at a fixed strength of 52.4% ABV.
The whisky combines flavours from casks used for two earlier releases, the 2019 Triple Wood and the 2021 PX Cask.
The nose is Brazil nut toffee brittle, vanilla custard and baking spice, with chocolate-covered raisins and spiced orange. The palate is rich, sweet and oily, with smoked orange toffee, stewed peaches and campfire smoke. The finish is long, slightly sweet and dry, with peppery peat smoke.
