Laphroaig Cairdeas Cask Strength Quarter Cask 2017 is a cask strength single malt Scotch whisky from the Laphroaig distillery, matured in quarter casks and bottled at 57.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose pairs intense peat smoke with iodine, seaweed, tar and damp bandages, then creamy vanilla, caramel and fresh bread crust, with smoked cured meat, orange peel and salty citrus.
The palate is full-bodied and oily. It opens with ashy smoke and chilli heat, softened by caramel, toffee and brown sugar, with sea salt, toasted coconut, liquorice and star anise. The finish is long, dry and warm, with sweet peat smoke, ginger, pepper and vanilla.
