Laphroaig Cairdeas Feis Ìle 2010 Master Edition is an 11 year old Islay single malt, bottled by the distillery in 2010 at 57.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Cairdeas is released for Feis Ìle, the Islay whisky festival, and the name means friendship in Scottish Gaelic.
It was matured in hogsheads and ex-bourbon casks, and 5,000 bottles were filled.
The nose offers peat smoke and sea air with vanilla, sweet malt and warm spice. On the palate it is full and powerful, with pronounced peat, medicinal notes and a salty undertone, set against sweet vanilla and malt. The finish is long, with smoke, maritime notes and spicy oak, then a gentle sweetness.
