Laphroaig Càirdeas is the special bottling released each year for the Fèis Ìle festival on Islay. The 2026 edition is a first for the distillery: a whisky matured entirely in French oak casks, bottled at 52.6% ABV.
French oak, traditionally used for wine and cognac, adds depth, gentle spice and an elegant oak influence to Laphroaig's peat smoke and maritime character.
The nose is smoky, sweet and spicy, with peat, leather and a salty sea note. The palate is oily and full, with bonfire smoke, vanilla, black liquorice and bright fruit. The finish is long, warm and balanced, with lingering peat and fine oak structure.
