This is a limited Laphroaig Cairdeas single malt from Islay, released in 2017 for the Feis Ile festival. It is bottled at 57.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration and with natural colour.
The whisky was matured first in ex-Maker's Mark bourbon casks, then spent six months in quarter casks.
The nose combines smoke, peat, sea salt, sherry, vanilla, plum, raisin, spice and leather, with a hint of medicinal notes. The palate is full-bodied and balanced, with honey and toffee. The long, warm finish has some sweetness and a light saltiness.
