Laphroaig Cairdeas Feis Ile 2017 is an Islay single malt matured in a quarter cask and bottled at a cask strength of 57.2%, in a 70cl bottle.
A quarter cask is a quarter of the size of the original barrel. That means more contact between whisky and wood, which gives an active maturation and intense flavours.
The nose brings minerals, peat smoke and oak spices, balanced by subtle fruit. On the palate, peat smoke and pepper meet salty notes and malty sweetness. The finish is strong, with salt, green fruits and a lingering sweetness.
