Laphroaig – Cairdeas Triple Wood 2019 (70cl, 59.5%)

Laphroaig Cairdeas Triple Wood 2019 is a single malt whisky from the Laphroaig distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 59.5% ABV. It is the 2019 edition of the Cairdeas series and carries a triple-wood name. The nose combines polished leather and tobacco leaf with spiced lemon, clementine peel and heather honey, then hazelnuts, vanilla fudge, white pepper, nutmeg and a hint of chamomile flower with passion fruit. The palate is sweet, with creamy toffee, dates, maple syrup, praline, roasted chestnuts and tarte Tatin, alongside marzipan, strong black pepper, cedar and beeswax. The finish is long and sweet, with lasting caramel and spiced buttery fudge.
