Laphroaig – Elements 3.0 (70cl, 55.3%)

Laphroaig Elements 3.0 is an Islay single malt, bottled at a cask strength of 55.3% and non-chill filtered, in a 70cl bottle. It is the third annual Elements release, from 2025. It came about after a fire in the kiln made the peat burn hotter and longer while the barley was drying, which deepened the smoke. The whisky was matured in American oak quarter casks, ex-bourbon barrels and refill Oloroso sherry casks. The nose offers iodine, campfire smoke, seaweed and dark fruit. On the palate come charred oak, salted caramel, red berries and earthy spice, followed by a long finish of ash, ginger and sea salt.
