Laphroaig – Four Oak (1L)

This is a Laphroaig single malt in a 1 litre bottle, matured in four types of cask: ex-whiskey barrels, quarter casks, virgin American oak barrels and European oak hogsheads. It follows on in spirit from the distillery's Triple Wood. The casks are chosen by hand and the whisky is described as combining sandalwood, pine, fir and willow. The nose has roasted espresso beans, almond cake, sawdust and peat. Smoke opens the palate, with vanilla and a hint of sweet batter, and the finish is drying, hot and long.
