Laphroaig Lore is an Islay single malt created by former Distillery Manager John Campbell and named for the knowledge handed down through eight generations of Islay craft. It is bottled at 48% ABV without chill filtration, in a 70cl-class 75cl bottle supplied in a branded tube.
It is a marriage of single malts aged 7 to 21 years, drawn from first fill bourbon barrels, refill bourbon, European oak, Oloroso sherry butts and the distillery's quarter casks. Some of the component whiskies date back to 1993 stock.
The nose is pungent peat smoke and seaside minerals with ash, bitter chocolate and vanilla. The palate is richly peaty with a spicy chilli bite, dark chocolate, dried fruit and coastal brine, ending short and dry with a long, sweet aftertaste.
